She was rescued in southern Greece, in a very cold part of the country, and her rescuers were asking for a foster home, so that she could spend the winter somewhere warm. Anna and I fell in love, and decided to take her in. She came to Athens and strated having a series of tests. Blood tests, ultra sounds, more blood tests. They showed leishmaniasis, a couple of tumors in her breasts, a tumor in her bladder and some fluid in her uterus. In March 2020 she had surgery. She was spayed ("rotten uterus" were the vet's exact words) and she had the breast tumors removed. After that, she started being treated for leishmaniasis (a mediterranean disease that can be deadly if left untreated). Both biopsies came back showing malignant cancer. She went in for another surgery (full mastectomy on the right side) and she started chemo. The cancer in her bladder, if left untreated, will progress fast and she will lose her quality of life. Our vet is an oncologist, he gave us a full medical report on Molly, and he believes she stands a good chance of responding to the treatment, that will give her a couple of good years (no one really knows). We promised to do the best for her, and we will. Molly is happy. She is active, playful, she eats well, loves her walks and loves her life. She is helping us help her every single day. *** If you think you could offer Molly a home for her final years, please email me: support@the orphananpet.com. We are not actively looking for a home for her, because we know that her foster home might be her final one, but you never know. She has been so lucky this far, maybe her story can end in a real fairytale.
